Physician Coder/Biller
Our program provides you with basic medical knowledge along with the medical coding procedures used to bill insurance companies and to track health conditions and diseases for reporting purposes in a physician's office. Upon successful completion, you will be prepared to pass the certification exam of the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC).
What is required?
A high school diploma or GED and a passing score on the Allied Health basic skills assessment. Next, you need to meet with the director of health care careers. You'll also need to complete the following courses, totaling 656 hours of instruction/clinical experience:

All students are required to wear green scrubs bearing the Cecil College patch (MUST be purchased from the Cecil College bookstore) and white shoes. Additionally, all students are required to be CPR certified and complete a health profile.
