Medical Assistant
This 900-hour accredited program prepares students with the administrative, clinical, and professional skills required to work in a physician's office or medical clinic. You will learn how to schedule appointments, order supplies, take vital signs, draw blood, give injections, do EKG's, bill insurance companies and use electronic health records (EHR). The full time, day program takes about nine months to complete and prepares students take the national certification exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/AAMA).
What is required?
You will need a high school diploma or a GED and a passing score on the Allied Health basic skills assessment. Next, you need to interview with the director of health care careers. You'll also need to complete the following courses, totaling 900 hours of instruction/clinical experience:

All students are required to wear green scrubs bearing the Cecil College patch (MUST be purchased from the Cecil College bookstore) and white shoes. Additionally, all students are required to be CPR certified and complete a health profile.
