Emergency Medical Technician—Paramedic
Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic is a rapidly expanding and challenging health care profession, involving the provision of immediate care to the critically ill or injured patient at the scene of an emergency. Students can choose to start immediately in their paramedic studies or can work towards their A.A.S. degree. Students who complete their paramedic education and pass the NREMT-P may receive credits towards their A.A.S degree.
What is distinctive?
The Paramedic program at Cecil College and Cecil County Department of Emergency Services is a unique partnership designed to meet the health care needs of Cecil County. The paramedic program is approved by Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) and is currently applying for national certification through Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP).
Paramedic Program (non-credit)
By successfully completing the occupational education and training in paramedic studies, you will be eligible to take the NREMT-P, the national accreditation practical and written exam required of all paramedics prior to practice.

Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Technology-Paramedic
This degree program prepares the paramedic student for practice in the field as well as opportunities for growth by obtaining an Associate's degree. Students who have successfully passed the NREMT-P written and practical exam, may be eligible to receive credits by credential assessment.
