The Department of English assists all Cecil College students in developing the writing, reading, critical thinking, and research skills necessary for their academic careers and professional lives. Along with Freshman Composition, the department offers courses in literature, film, journalism, technical writing, and creative writing, courses that may be transferred to a B.A. degree, applied to an A.A. in General Studies, and/or applied to an A.A. in Teaching English.
