Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
-
Where do I purchase textbooks for my class?
Textbooks for courses are available at the Cecil College Bookstore located across the street from the North East Campus in College Crossing at 3135 Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway. You may purchase texts at the Cecil College Bookstore or another bookstore of your choice. If the course description notes "Textbook required," check with the Bookstore (410-287-4740) for the name of the text. Textbooks will not be available from the instructor on the first night of class nor can they purchased at Elkton Station. It will be your responsibility to purchase your text prior to the course to be ready for a successful learning experience.

-
What time are these classes offered?
Most of the 60 & Better classes are offered during the day with a select few offered during the weekends and in the evening.
-
How many classes do I need to take for the best benefit of the network?
If you are a resident of the state of Maryland your greatest savings will come when you sign up for 4 or more classes. If you are signing up for less than that you may want to investigate the 60+ tuition waiver for the citizens of Maryland. If you are out of state you can start saving on your very first class when you join the network.
-
What is the 60+ tuition waiver?
If you are 60+ and living in the state of Maryland, you qualify for tuition waiver on select creative leisure and personal growth classes. You will only pay the course fee which in many cases is as low as $25. If you are planning on only taking a few classes this might be your best choice. This waiver is not available for out of state students.
-
If I join the network and decide after the semester is over I would have preferred doing the waiver instead can I change my mind?
No, please plan ahead for your best deal. Once you have taken classes we cannot go back and switch your option of payment to something else. If you aren't sure what the best deal is for you, call us we will gladly help. 410-392-3366
