A lifelong resident of Cecil County, Dr. Mary Way Bolt began her college education at Cecil by earning an associate degree in nursing in 1986. She returned to the college in 1990 as a member of the nursing faculty and was promoted to nursing department chair, director of nursing education, acting dean of instruction, and associate dean for nursing, allied health and health services. Bolt, who was named vice president of academic programs in 2004, earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, a master's in community health nursing from the University of Maryland Baltimore, and doctorate in higher education and leadership from Widener University.

As vice president/chief information officer, Stephen diFilipo is responsible for keeping Cecil up to speed in the area of information technology. A veteran of the field since computers started to become more prevalent in the 1980s, diFilipo came to Cecil in 2007 by way of Gloucester County College, where he spent five years as chief technology officer. He has also held upper management information technology positions at Quantum Think in Philadelphia; Burlington County Special Services School District in Mount Holly, N.J.; and Campbell Soup Company in Camden, N.J. diFilipo earned a bachelor's degree from Rowan University and a master's from New York University.

Dr. Diane Lane serves on Cecil's leadership team as vice president of student services and institutional effectiveness. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of higher education, Lane's background has focused on administrative leadership with special emphasis in the areas of student affairs and enrollment management. In this role, she has been responsible for completing operational audits, market forecasting, and strategic enrollment management planning for a number of community colleges. Lane received a bachelor's degree from Salisbury University, a master's from Penn State University, and a doctorate in community college leadership from Morgan State University. She continues to pursue her research interest in organizational culture and its relationship to leadership in the community college.

Chris Ann Szep returned to Cecil College in 2006 to assume the role of vice president of institutional advancement and government relations. Szep, who previously served Cecil as director of both the Family Education Center and community health coalition Project CARD, is responsible for fundraising, donor relations, and the advancement of existing and new initiatives for the benefit of the college. She also keeps politicians apprised of the importance of Cecil College and its needs, and what a diverse role it can play in the community and the lives of its families. The inaugural recipient of Cecil County's Athena award earned her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and her master's from Wilmington University.

As vice president of administrative services, Dr. Christine Valuckas oversees human resources, risk management, accounting, auxiliary services, payroll, procurement, finance, facilities management, events management, security, minor capital and major construction projects. Valuckas negotiates land acquisitions, leases and major contracts for the college and facilitates major procurements for services. She also serves as the college's legal liaison with its general counsel, employment and labor attorney, and construction attorney. Valuckas began working at Cecil in 1985 and spent about seven years in the continuing education division before moving to the business office. Valuckas received a bachelor's degree from Ursuline College, a master's in business administration from Baldwin-Wallace College, and a doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of Sarasota.

Deborah Klenk rejoined Cecil College in 2007 as dean of career and community education. Her division offers a wide variety of continuing education options such as certifications, licensures and professional development; academic preparation classes, youth programs, adult personal enrichment, senior classes, and online learning for all ages. From 1991 to 2004, she handled many roles on the team she now leads, including directing the Business Training Resource Center, serving as an instructor for several programs, and helping launch the Mid-Atlantic Transportation and Logistics Institute out into the business community. Klenk has a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland in speech communication and a master's in business administration from Wilmington University.

Dr. David Linthicum is currently serving as interim dean of academic programs. Linthicum, who joined Cecil in 2009 as an assistant professor, business and procurement, is a highly experienced generalist in federal procurement and contracting whose career in federal contracting spans more than 20 years. He has taught numerous procurement/contracting classes for the National Contract Management Association and was an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and the City Colleges of Chicago. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Columbia College in Missouri, a master's in personnel management from Central Michigan University, and a doctorate in leadership and policy from Temple University.
